The basis of my qigong training and teaching is Zhineng Qigong, developed by Grandmaster Dr. Pang Ming. This form of Qigong is considered a medical qigong. There are no martial aspects in this practice - we are simply connecting with Universal energy and bringing it deep inside our own body. This brings restored and renewed health and energy; mental clarity; inner peace and calm; balanced emotions and true, internal joy.
“When your life improves and you are full of energy, everything becomes beautiful in your eyes, everyone is kind to you. It's true that you yourself change and the whole world then seems different. Qigong brings people happiness and inner joy. Qigong gives more energy and strength.” Master Liu Jianshe.
Living in Hawaii over the last few years, I am constantly reminded of the parallels between Zhineng Qigong and the way of life called ALOHA.
The practice of Zhineng Qigong and living on the Island both teach you about love and respect - for yourself and for all other beings. The powerful, loving Chi Field accessed through qigong and the vital, present energy of Hawaii both teach you to open and heal your heart. Qigong can be practiced anywhere. It gives us the tools to bring about a desired change in our life.
As Dr.Pang Ming stated:
“It is a path to equality, freedom and the peace of humanity.”
Aloha - Alo means "In the presence of", Ha means "Breath".
The meaning of Aloha, the essence of what it means, is that we all share the breath of Creator, we are all here together, in this present time, sharing the breath of the same Creator. In the true meaning of Aloha, there is no separation, we are ALL equal. Inherent in the understanding of Aloha is respect - absolute respect for everyone, respect for everything. To live with Aloha is to live with love.
Qigong - is also made up of two words - Qi and Gong. Qi (or chi) being energy and gong meaning practice.
Qi is basically energy, the energy that everything in the Universe is made up of. Qi is the fundamental building block of life, "The Breath of Creator".
Gong means practice - a conscious, mindful practice of qi. As you practice Zhineng Qigong, you have the tangible experience of being in a field of energy where there is no separation, where there is love and respect for everyone and everything. Where, as Dr. Pang Ming said, "You and the nature have become one."
To live in the true essence of Qigong is to live in an energy of love, for yourself and for others.
Aloha Qigong
I use the name Aloha Qigong, not just because I live in Hawaii, but because the practice of Zhineng Qigong carries all the elements of Aloha. Living here in Hawaii, I see how Aloha is integrated into every day life. Here on the Big Island, there is not prejudice or judgement - ALL people are treated with respect. Imagine a world where everyone lived this way.
This way of living can be taught! - We can learn to live from a place of love and respect for ourselves and for others. By using the great gift of the Chi field that Grandmaster Dr. Pang Ming (the creator of Zhineng Qigong) brought to the world of Qigong, we are practicing bringing a state of harmony and respect into every element of our life. Zhineng Qigong has mostly been thought of as a medical Qigong, but it is much more than this - it is truly inner alchemy.
Through practice, we come into harmony with the oneness of all that is, we bring ourselves into a state of inner peace and harmony - and with that - EVERYTHING comes into balance.
Our physical health, our mental state, our emotions and our Spiritual awareness.
Hawaii is a culture of Aloha - where people are respected because we all share the same breath of Creator. I am blessed to be in a place where you are seen because of your heart - not if you are thin or heavy, not if you are black, white or of any other color, not if you are wealthy or poor, not if you are old or young.
The Huaxia Zhineng Training Center in China (known as the Medicineless hospital) was also a place where everyone was treated as equal. There was no separation between a high government official or anyone else.
"In all the mass activities, everyone gathers around without any differentiation of status and roles, not even age or gender, only a Chi field that is full of laughter; laughter that laughs away all sicknesses."
This can be created anywhere in the world - wherever you live. It begins inside of you. You can develop skills of inner harmony and a balanced life wherever you are, and as you do so, the peace inside will radiate outwards.
